Do you think nature is beautiful and life is a gift? Well, you're wrong. Nature does have some superficial beauty, but it is really more like a super model who has the bubonic plague and hasn't showered in weeks.
What do I actually mean though? Basically there are many things about nature that are beautiful on the surface, like a nice sunset or a cute bunny. But if we look below the surface, then we can notice that nature is rotten at the core, and full of foul smelling odours.
Mother nature isn't kind, but a cruel and merciless hag. She rewards the strong simply for being strong regardless if they are good or evil, while the weak and innocent often suffer the most in this hellhole. Usually it is also the strong who thrive and prosper by being able to overpower and exploit the weak. The only limits nature poses are the laws of physics, but everything else is fair game. Humans have made some artificial rules and systems to govern our societies to even the scales of justice, which are not perfect, but it is better than the law of the jungle.
Everyone in this world is a victim of their circumstances, as we did not ask to be born, life was simply imposed on us. But at the same time, most living beings become victimizers to varying degrees. In the game of life we are forced to steal star energy and material resources from other organisms in order to survive and procreate. The lion devours the slowest baby gazelle, and doesn't consider the pain it inflicts, such empathy would be a hindrance to the lions survival. Even generally kind and religious humans could be seen as demons from the perspective of livestock in a factory farm, if these people consume animal products in the modern world.
But why does this world exist, and why are we doing these things? There isn't really a good reason from what I know. Animals aren't intelligent enough to ponder these questions, perhaps for good reason, they just eat, poop and pump out babies. Human level intelligence is an anomaly in nature, perhaps it is not even meant to survive in the long term. People who seek the truth, and are genuinely empathetic, are going to have a hard time in this world.
There doesn't seem to be any grand prize for surviving and procreating, we just end up perpetuating the cycle of life and its struggles by passing the torch to our offspring. Religions offer many theories as to what happens after death, but nobody knows for sure. As far as we can prove, humans just live, die and become food for worms. We are all eventually forgotten in the sands of time. There is no proof any god is going to pat you on the back and say "good job" in the afterlife, or torment you eternally for your misdeeds.
Life is more like a sandbox video game. After you have obtained what is required for survival, there is really no clear set goal that you must achieve. You can either make up your own goals, or subscribe to goals that other people have set, like those prescribed in religious or political movements. I think religion emerged as humans became more intelligent, and some political movements may be substitutes for religions as we are moving away from superstition. For many people simply existing and consuming isn't enough, they require some sort of higher purpose.
